If you’re a true traveler and a true romantic, it’s never too early to start planning your next adventure with your significant other. No matter if you’re trying to organize a short getaway for the winter holidays or you want to plan a bigger adventure for spring break, here are a few romantic travel destinations best to put on your travel list:

Bali, Indonesia

There are no surprises here, because Bali, the “Island of the Gods”, is the most romantic destination there is. It’s versatile in every way, meaning you can do nothing but enjoy the sun and relaxation or you can be super active with water sports, diving and surfing. You can try different types of romance like hiking through monkey forests like Indiana Jones and Lara Croft or you can be more like two crazy teens dancing to DJ sets until the sun comes up. And spa treatments in Bali are to die for, with many of them being specialized for couples, so you don’t have to leave your partner’s side even for a second, so there’s your date idea settled!

Tulum, Mexico

There are two things every romantic vacation needs: intimate settings and crazy experiences to share with your partner. Tulum has both of those, and a lot of it. Newly-weds usually just choose to truly relax and lounge at the beach, but those more adventurous can rotate between water parks, sinkhole chasing and exploration of Mayan ruins. A great full day of adventure and romance would start with snorkeling and tubing at Xel-Ha Park and end with extra tasty meals and drinks at Gitano, a bar that looks just like a wild jungle.

Miami, Florida

Listen up, Miami is mainly known as a party destination for wild singles and hookups, but it can also be absolutely amazing for couples looking for romance. It’s a coastal city full of gorgeous views, warm weather, many sites and attractions and opportunities to be alone. You can book a romantic boat ride and enjoy the views from the water or find a quiet corner in the Fairchild Botanic Garden. And don’t get us started on all the amazing restaurants you can visit on your trip.

Here’s a super romantic date idea: make reservations in a cute Italian restaurant and share a pizza or steal little bites of each other’s pasta. When you’re full of tasty food and some Italian wine, you can go cozy up at an outdoor screening in SoundScape Park. This venue hosts free movie and concert screenings from September to May, so bring a blanket, grab another bottle of wine and enjoy some cultural enlightenment as you giggle in each other’s arms.

Whistler, Canada

If both of you love winter and all the magic it brings, travel somewhere where winter feels even more special—Whistler in Canada. Skiing on Whistler mountains (and nearby Blackcomb) is suitable for both seasoned skiers and complete newbies, so it doesn’t matter if you and your partner have mismatched skiing skills. There are various trails with different intensities or you can just take a ride in a gondola and enjoy snow-covered tree tops.

After a day outside in the snow and cold, you will enjoy all the fun at the base of the peaks. Whistler Village is a pedestrian-only center of restaurants, bars and shops, and when you get tired of walking, you can retire to your resort and enjoy a hot cup of cocoa or mulled wine as you cuddle under the blanket.

Iceland

Iceland is a more unusual travel idea, but it can be attractive both in winter and summer. If you love skiing and snow exploration, visit in December. At this time, you’ll experience the true magic of the North. You’ll get to explore black-sand beaches, chase waterfalls and warm up in the warm geothermal waters of the iconic Blue Lagoon. A perfect date idea would be to hit the spa, luxuriate in muddy and fun spa treatments before your extra special date under the dancing northern light spectacle.
