Italian Sausage With Vegetables (Use vegetables such as: zucchini, red bell peppers, onion…) On this night we served it with pesto pasta or you can use pasta with red sauce to complete the meal if you prefer. We alternate to switch things up.

The steps are easy to making this recipe. Honestly, anyone can make it! Cut the sausage and wash and chop the vegetables. Cook the Italian sausage and vegetables on the stove-top. Braising them until cooked. In a separate pot: Put on the water for the pasta. Open a jar of pesto sauce (or make your own). Cook the pasta al dente, drain the water, and mix noodles with pesto sauce (or use red sauce).

- 12-inch pan (or bigger)
- Large Pot for boiling the pasta water
- Colander
- Pasta Fork/Spoon
- Cutting Board
- Chef Knife
- Wood Spoon
Ingredients

Chicken Italian Sausage
(Mild Italian Sausage, or Spicy Chicken Italian Sausage, or your favorite Italian Sausage) - Olive Oil
- 3-4 Zucchinis
- 1 Red Bell Pepper
- Half of an Onion
- 3 Garlic Cloves
- Italian Seasonings Organic (Italian Seasonings)
- Salt and Pepper
Quick Pesto Pasta
Ingredients
- Pot of Water
- Salt (for the water)
- Spaghetti Noodles (or other pasta noodles like these)
- Jar of Pesto Sauce (we used Creamy Pesto Sauce)
If you don’t like pesto sauce you can omit it and use red sauce on the pasta noodles. Or combine the Italian sausage and vegetables to this quick pasta sauce recipe: Quick and Easy Homemade Pasta Sauce.

Instructions
How To Cook Italian Sausage With Vegetables
- Cut the sausage into bite size pieces (leaving the casing on them) and wash and chop the vegetables.
- Peel and mince the garlic cloves.
- Add olive oil (1-2 tablespoons) to the pan.
- Then add and cook the Italian sausage and vegetables on the stove-top.
- As it is cooking, add the garlic cloves, Italian seasonings (1-2 tsp.), salt and pepper (to taste).
- Braising the sausage until cooked (per package instructions) and vegetables. Note: If the sausage needs more than 8-10 minutes, start by cooking the sausage in the oil first and then add the vegetables half way through, until they are tender.
Instructions For Quick Pesto Pasta
- Put on the water for the pasta.
- Add a little salt to the water.
- Bring the water to a boil.
- Cook the spaghetti (pasta) al dente (according to the directions on the package), drain the water.
- Add the drained pasta to a large bowl and mix with pesto sauce with it in the large bowl.
Serve the Italian Sausage (With Vegetables) with Pasta. You can plate it side by side or add the Italian sausage to the top of the pasta! Don’t forget to add some Parmesan Cheese And Enjoy!
Recipe Notes:
You can use a jar of red pasta sauce (our favorite red sauce at Target) in place of using pesto. You can serve the sausage and vegetables with rice or potatoes. The recipe is easy to adapt to your taste preference and liking.
We prefer creamy pesto sauce but, any good pesto sauce or homemade pesto sauce will be delicious on the spaghetti pasta noodles.
Additionally, sometimes when I make this with red sauce I add the jar of red sauce right into the pan with the Italian sausage with vegetables with the sauce and ladle it onto the noodles. Next, time I make it I’ll share that way too.
