Here’s a simple recipe for pasta carbonara

Ingredients:

  • 8 oz (225 g) spaghetti or fettuccine
  • 4 slices of bacon, chopped
  • 2 cloves of garlic, minced
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/2 cup (50 g) grated Parmesan cheese
  • Salt and black pepper, to taste
  • Chopped fresh parsley (optional, for garnish)

Instructions:

  1. Cook the pasta according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
  2. In a large skillet over medium heat, cook the chopped bacon until crispy. Remove the bacon from the skillet and set aside on a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess grease.
  3. In the same skillet with the bacon grease, add minced garlic and cook for 1-2 minutes until fragrant.
  4. In a medium bowl, whisk together the eggs, grated Parmesan cheese, salt, and black pepper.
  5. Add the cooked pasta to the skillet with the garlic and toss to coat the pasta with the bacon grease.
  6. Remove the skillet from heat and pour the egg mixture over the pasta, stirring quickly to evenly coat the pasta. The heat from the pasta will cook the eggs and create a creamy sauce.
  7. Add the cooked bacon back to the skillet and toss to combine.
  8. Serve the pasta carbonara hot, garnished with chopped fresh parsley if desired.
