Beef stew

Hello my readers! Winter is coming and that means two things, the Holidays are near and it time to cook up some warm meals like this Beef Stew. It’s one of my favorites to make on a cold night. The recipe comes from (Campbells Slow Cooker Recipe) is for slow cooker but you can make this on the stovetop and just tastes just as good.

The ingredients are…

1 1/2 pounds beef for stew, cut into 1-inch pieces

Ground black pepper

1/4 cup all- purpose flour

1 tablespoon vegetable oil

2 1/2 cup cube potatoes ( about 3 large potatoes or 4 small potatoes)

4 medium carrots, sliced ( about two cups)

4 cloves garlic minced ( if you don’t have garlic its fine)

3 cups of beef broth

1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce

1 teaspoon dried thyme leaves, crushed

1 bay leave

1/4 cup water

1 cup frozen or can peas

2 medium onions, cut into wedges

Sprinkle beef with black pepper and coat with flour. Heat the oil in a large pot over medium-high heat. Add beef and cook until browned, stirring often.

Place potatoes, carrots, onions and garlic in to pot, top with beef and add broth, Worcestershire sauce, thyme, water, and bay leaf.

Cook it for 2 hour on stovetop till the broth becomes thick from the potatoes and the meat is tender

After its done you can make mashed potatoes, rice or pasta for your stew to put on or just eat it by itself. All and all it a hearty and savory meal to have and make it as great leftovers.

I hope you like this post and enjoy the meal!
