Swapping out cabinet hardware is a popular way to instantly transform a kitchen. Why not apply the same tactic in the bath?
The latest oak and leather bathroom storage pieces from By Wirth of Denmark have us inspired to introduce some much needed warmth to a chilly setting. Company founder Signe Wirth Engelund got her start in fashion and men’s tailoring, and her pieces, though simple, are made with great precision. “The vision,” she says, “is creating things with longevity based on natural materials and a clean, timeless design.”
Everything in the collection is available in natural oak with natural leather, black oak with black leather, and smoked oak with brown leather. We imagine they would work best in bath settings that aren’t constantly damp. By Wirth’s designs are moderately priced—the toilet paper holder, for instance, is approximately $69—and sold all over Scandinavia (RoyalDesign.no carries the whole By Wirth collection), and throughout Europe and Australia. They are not, however, available in the States. We hope that changes soon.
Come take a look—and, if you’re handy, consider using these as a starting point for some creative DIY solutions.

In the bath, it pairs well with the brand’s Toilet Paper Holder; 375 DKK. Above: Another companion piece to the Toilet Paper Holder, the Double Loop Hanger (315 DKK)—an oak hook with two leather straps—can be used for hanging all sorts of things, including magazines or towels. Above: By Wirth’s Towel Hanger is a larger, more triangular version of the toilet paper holder; both have leather straps that are slotted into oak pegs; 420 DKK.

The Magazine Hang Out (420 DKK) suspends periodicals by leather strings that end in wooden spheres. Go to our Bathroom Organization archive for more ideas.
